ring sling with overlapping pleat shoulder
Today's
message: The kids are out of school for the summer, so while
I'm doing my best to keep up with orders, there may be days where I get a little
behind so that I can take the kids to the pool or on a day trip. Please don't
expect 24-hour turnaround during this time.

Double layer linen slings:
I get a lot of requests for double-layer linen slings, so here's the info you'll need.

I recommend lightweight (3.5 oz) linen from www.fabrics-store.com.
Here
are the linens I like for a double-layer sling. Keep in mind you will need
three yards of each color (unless you will be wearing an extra-small, in which
case 2 yards is sufficient). If you just want a single color, you can order one
length of that color and I can fold it in half and sew it together, so you needn't
buy two pieces. Most
of them are $8.44/yard. If you get two colors, you can get two slings out of
it because it's fairly wide. Fabric costs would be $34-50 for two colors (keeping
in mind the latter can make two slings). I prefer that the customer orders the
fabric and has it sent to me at the address on the custom
slings page.
Sewing a double layer sling is $30 (it takes me much longer than two single-layer slings), and shipping back to you will be between $4.80 and $8.30, depending on how far away you live.
Finished double-layer slings are completely reversible. (The sling shown above is actually a double-layer silk, but I use the same method in sewing double-layer linens.) Due to the amount of fabric, I use size large SlingRings; the slings would be very difficult to adjust through smaller rings, so I do not recommend them.
